Authors by the Bay - Bill LambrechtSaturday, August 1, 2009 09:38:31 AMThe Calvert Library Foundation invites you to attend a lecture and book signing featuring award winner Bill Lambrecht. Mr. Lambrecht will speak about his latest book, Big Muddy Blues; True Tales and Twisted Politics Along Lewis and Clark’s Missouri River. Join us on Sunday, August 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at King’s Landing Park in Huntingtown. Tickets are $25.00 each and include the lecture and light refreshments. Please purchase tickets in advance at any Calvert Library location.
Mr. Lambrecht is a Washington correspondent of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he has covered national politics and the environment for two decades. In Big Muddy Blues, Lambrecht describes the troubled Missouri River, a ruined waterway with species running to extinction.
Mr. Lambrecht also wrote Dinner at the New Gene Cafe, a book about the genetic engineering of our food. He is co-founder of Bay Weekly, an independent newspaper covering Anne Arundel and Calvert counties.
This program is the sixth in the Authors by the Bay series. The Calvert Library Foundation is currently raising funds to improve library services and facilities. Recently, the Foundation funded the purchase of a subscription to enable Calvert Library customers to download audio books onto their MP3 players.
