Calvert Library Foundation will present a special Authors by the Bay event on March 8, 2009, 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick.

This event will be especially appealing to youngsters as the author being presented is children’s author Cristina Bryan.  Calvert County's Tina Bryan is the CEO of Barclay Bryan Press, and has been a writer and professional book editor for over thirty years.  Though she has specialized in areas as diverse as medieval linguistics and U.S. Civil War history, she says that from now on her focus is going to be on her real love: illustrated children's books.  A Warm Place in Winter, a cozy read-aloud story in verse, is illustrated by well-known Canadian painter Holly Sedgwick.  Ms. Bryan is currently touring Calvert County schools sharing her book with elementary students.  She especially enjoys reading to children, and explains why spooky stories can be fun!  So bring your children or grandchildren to snuggle up with for this afternoon event.  Light refreshments will be served and books will be available for sale and signing.  Tickets are available at all Calvert Library locations for $10/adult and $1/child.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.   For more information, call Robyn Truslow at 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862.
